Hon Dr Megan Woods - Minister of Energy and ResourcesFROM THE MINISTER

The New Zealand minerals sector provides a substantial economic contribution to our country and we want to see this continue in the future. This Government understands the importance of mining for regional economies and is interested in the pivot going on around the world towards ‘green minerals’ and what role New Zealand could play in this.

Further, the adoption of new mining technologies and our role in innovation provides opportunities for best practice operators and service providers in New Zealand to export their intellectual property. The Minerals Forum is an important event being attended by key stakeholders in the sector and I look forward to seeing you all there.
